Rhizomatous Tall Fescue (RTF©) is an advanced generation of turf-type tall fescue which produces rhizomes. A rhizome is an underground stem that penetrates laterally through the soil to spread the plant. Rhizomes send shoots up to the soil surface while extending new roots downward, forming a new plant. The rhizomatous nature of RTF is similar to Kentucky bluegrass. However, unlike Kentucky bluegrass RTF will survive the transition zone climate and other tall fescue turf regions.

Endurance is Sierra Sod’s blend of turf-type tall fescue and our Kentucky bluegrass mix. Endurance combines the drought, heat, shade, and wear tolerances of tall fescue with the heavy, root rhizome qualities of bluegrass.

Majestic combines the hardiness of ryegrass with the rhizoming characteristics of bluegrass to improve shade and wear tolerance. This lawn sod variety is medium to deep rooted, has good winter color, and has improved tolerance to common fungus problems.

Santa Ana Bermudagrass was first developed by UCLA in 1956 for its deep blue-green color, medium-fine texture and good fall color retention. Today you can find this amazing turf at Sierra Sod where it is grown and cut fresh for sod deliveries and installations.

Roll Size- 24″ wide X 48″ long = 8 sq. ft. Sod Thickness-5/8 to 3/4″ Sod Weight- 45 to 50 pounds per roll. Our sod is harvested in eight square foot rolls, which are lighter and easier to install. We also have the ability to harvest and install 30″ wide big rolls for large-scale installations.
